FAQ

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is The insertion of a small, thin probe  into the hair follicle. After the probe is inserted, a small electrical current is introduced to the hair follicle which creates a chemical and heat reaction that destroys the hair's root.

Does it Hurt?

Most clients do not feel the insertion of the probe into the hair follicle, but may report feeling the application of the current.

How Many Treatments Does It Take?

A series of treatments is usually required to effectively destroy the hair's root, as hair treated in the early growth stage responds more effectively than hair treated in later stages. Your electrologist will determine the best amount of treatments based on your hair type and the area that you want treated.

How Long Does Each Treatment Take?

Treatments can last anywhere from 15 minutes and one hour depending on the size of the area that is being treated.

What Hair and Skin Types Can Be Treated?

Unlike laser hair removal, Electrolysis can be used on any skin type and for all type of hair. All areas of the body can be treated with the exception of the eyelashes and the inside of the nostrils.

What is Lyons Electrolysis' Cancellation Policy?

Your appointments are very important to Lyons Electrolysis. They are reserved especially for you. We understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. Therefore, we respectfully request at least a 24 hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments.

Please understand that when you forget, cancel or change your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time and clients on our wait list miss the opportunity to receive services. Any appointment missed, rescheduled or late cancelled without 24 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount. As a courtesy, your appointments are confirmed electronically the day before and an hour before your scheduled appointment by email and/or text messaging from our online appointment scheduling software because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked days, weeks or months ago. From this confirmation email you have the option to cancel, reschedule or change your appointment.

Please understand if you are late to your appointment, we will use the remainder of your time to work on you and you will be charged for the full original appointment duration. Please understand that when you are late, we can't run into the next client's appointment time in order to fill your full service time that was booked. If there is not already an appointment following yours, we will honor the full appointment time. If there is an appointment already scheduled after yours, you are more than welcome to come back later in the day if there is an opening to finish up the remaining time. Please feel free to ask and we will do everything in our power to help! We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
